Tonight we will be having a Blue Moon on the last night of the year, if we lived in an ancient society it would be a powerful night for omens and divinations, so in that spirit I will have a little look at the future , via some Tarot cards, first we look at the past, King of Swords, An active and determined person. Experience. Authority. Someone proficient in their field. Highly analytical person. A person having many ideas and designs. Next ..current...Three of swords reversed, Distraction, Confusion, Disorder, Error, Mistake, Incompatibility, mental anxieties, alienation, loneliness. Finally the future in one card, Six of cups, Memories & past infulences. Things that have vanished, Childhood passed, nostalgia, faded images, longing, reflections on the past bring insight . Well it seems that even though we aren't really thrilled with the way things are now, we will gain insight from it, so that's good! Now I'm going to go make art, will post it when it's done.

Did You see the Moon?
Tonight the moon was so very full and beautiful, if you missed it, be sure to look at it tomorrow. Looking at the moon and the sky is like stopping to smell the roses, it's something that must be done "in the moment" and it's always important to do these real things, and not get so caught up in our minds that we lose track of now. Today I sat the gallery at the Guadalupe Art Dogs on Ingram Loop, it was a wonderful day, several friends came by and visited and drank tea, and several shoppers came in, sold a pair of earrings, and throughly enjoyed myself. I'm reading a book for inspiration to teach a class using mixed media to make a set of personal inspirational cards. It's so much fun working with mixed media, but all the cutting of paper and other stuff always seems to make such a mess, lots more mess than just painting, but the fun is the mixing up of all the papers and paints and ribbons, and whatever, especially the whatever. Janet Ghio should be teaching this class, she makes such wonderful things.

Artists Statement

* ********************************************************************************** It is my belief that everyone is on a spiritual quest, whether we know it or not. Everything we do is a reflection of the deeper reality that is always with us. We are like the fish who swim in the sea, unaware of the very water that surrounds us. These paintings are a result of a lifetime of spiritual quest. Over the years I have been a student of life and history. God and the spiritual side of life are a wonder to me. I ask, what is it all about and how are we to live? I find the experience of life to be absolutely magical and in these paintings I am expressing a vision of the interconnectedness of everything, the vitality of life force in all of this beautiful dream we live in. My hope is to participate in making beauty evident on canvas through these images. The magical in the everyday. They are a combination of abstraction and objective, a combination of seen and unseen. A reminder to lift the veil and see what lies beyond.

Today is a new day, or is it night?

Today is the first day of my life...that can't be right...I remember yesterday and it was a great day too, what nonsense, tomorrow I plan on eating more veggies and starting a new painting, I have so many options, there are the gigantic white canvases waiting, and there are some small pieces that need final work, and there are art supplies galore waiting in their boxes to be set free again, now that the holidays are over, I am considering becoming more bohemian in the new year. It would be a minor adjustment to be more decorative in my clothing than I have been in the past, and it might possibly be lots more fun. I will be changing my art work at the Guadalupe Art Dogs Gallery, the series I have called Natural Energies (thanks to my friends for helping with the name) is going to be moved from the lovely little gallery in Comfort, The Lucky Bat, on the first of the new year. Painting is the most wonderful thing I can think of to do! I will be teaching a really interesting class soon at the Guadalupe Art Dogs...more on that later.
